Robert "Mitch" Crain

Robert "Mitch" Crain, 69, of Winnsboro, Louisiana, passed away on September 7, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1955, in Monroe, Louisiana, to the late Velton "Buddy" Crain and Allie V. Houston Crain.

Mitch grew up in the Ward III community of Swampers, Louisiana, and graduated from Ward III High School. He spent the last 30 years in Liddieville, LA with his precious bride Gail.

Throughout his life, he worked many jobs that reflected his strong work ethic and versatility, including roughnecking, farming, crop-dusting assistant, offshore production operator, grain hauler, and medical billing. No matter what he was doing, Mitch gave his best and was respected by all who knew him.

Mitch was especially known for his quick wit, playful spirit, and unique style of "picking." He had a way of brightening the day of everyone around him, leaving behind countless memories of laughter and joy.

He is survived by his loving wife, Gail Adams Crain; his children Robbie Crain, Thomas Crain, Glenn Easterling, and Jefferey Easterling; his grandchildren Anthony Crain, Gabe Crain, Elijah Crain, Julianna Crain, Addalyn Crain, Kirk Easterling, Payton Doyle, Maeleigh Doyle, Cayden Doyle, Victoria Floyd, Wyatt Williamson, and Abbie Griffing; his niece Apryl Crain Chapman; and his faithful dog, Buddy Boy Crain. He will also be deeply missed by many extended family members and friends.

Mitch was preceded in death by his parents, Buddy and Allie V. Crain; his brothers, Velton Crain, Donnie Crain, and Carl Crain; and his niece, Camie Crain Temple.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Boeuf River Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Boeuf River Baptist Church, with Bro. Rodney Ratcliff and Bro. Kevin Goodman officiating. Interment will follow at Ogden Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Community Memorial Funeral Home.

Mitch will be remembered as a devoted husband and father, a loyal friend, and a man whose humor and kindness will continue to bring a smile to our faces.

Pallbearers are Kirk Easterling, Anthony Crain, Gabe Crain, Elijah Crain, Wyatt Williamson, Cayden Doyle, and Payton Doyle.

Honorary pallbearers are Adam Faulk, Boo Faulk, Ryan Killingsworth, Jim Dalrymple, Enon McNease, and Ronnie Broussard
