Karan S. Herring, age 84, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025, in Saginaw, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 7, 1940, in Big Rapids, MI, the daughter of Donnell G. and Rosalie H. (Neve) Bumb. Karan was a graduate of Adrian High School in 1959. She then attended Kirtland Community College and received her registered nurse degree. Karan lived in Cadillac for 25 years before returning to Battle Creek in 2019 and then moving to Saginaw in 2022 to be with her daughters. She retired from Amicare Home Health Care in 2002. She married Norman Herring in 1992 who preceded her in death. She was a member of Central Christian Church in Battle Creek and Cadillac Christian Reformed Church. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, puzzles, reading and karaoke. Surviving are daughters, Denise Hanses of Saginaw, Jacki Denison of Munger, MI, Stacy (Mike) Kendziorski of Munger, MI; step-children, Lannette (Alan) Campbell of Charlevoix, MI, Bobbi Jo (Daniel) Priem of Lake City; 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren; brothers, Ken “Biff” (Kathy) Bailey of Marshall, Rick (Toni) Bailey of Battle Creek, Jay (Karen) Johnson of Ionia; sister, Patricia Stebleton of Battle Creek. Karan was preceded in death by her parents, Rosalie and Kenneth Bailey, husband, Norman, sisters; Sandra (Bob) Wenger and Linda (Robert) Benjamin, and step-daughter Tammy Robinson.
Funeral services will be held 2:00pm Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Central Christian Church, Battle Creek. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
