KAREN BROWN, AGE 67 OF BANNING/RANCHO MIRAGE, CALIFORNIA PASSED AWAY FROM THIS EARTH ON SEPTEMBER 7, 2025. SHE IS NOW AT REST IN THE LORD.

KAREN WAS BORN ON FEBRUARY 9, 1958 IN LYNWOOD, CALIFORNIA AND GREW UP IN ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA AND GRADUATED FROM SANTIAGO HIGH SCHOOL IN 1976.

KAREN EVENTUALLY MOVED TO SILVERADO CANYON IN ORANGE COUNTY AND WAS A VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTER IN SELVERADO & SURROUNDING CANYONS FROM THE 1980'S INTO THE 1990'S.

DURING THIS TIME KAREN WAS A SCHOOL BUS DRIVER FOR THE ORANGE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT AND WOULD LATER DRIVE THE SCHOOL BUSES FOR THE COACHELLA VALLEY SCHOOL DISTRICTS. HER SUMMERS WERE SPENT UP IN HER BELOVED MOUNTAINS IN BOTH YOSEMITE, CA AND THE GRAND TETONS, WY SERVING THOSE COMMUNITIES.

IN 1999. KAREN MOVED TO THREE RIVERS, CA LOCATED AT THE BASE OF THE SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK WHERE SHE DISPATCHED FOR THE FEDERAL INTERAGENCY COMMUNICATION CENTER (FICC) THERE.

IN 2005, KAREN RELOCATED BACK TO SO. CAL WHERE SHE WORKED AT THE BUSIEST JOINT FICC IN THE UNITED STATES AT THE HEADQUARTERS IN SAN BERNARDINO, CA DISPATCHING AND SERVING THE U.S. FOREST SERVICE, THE NATIONAL PARK SERVICE, THE BUREAU OF LAND MANAGEMENT (BLM) AND THE BUREAU OF INDIAN AFFFAIRS.

KAREN LIVED A LIFE OF SERVICE AND RETIRED FROM THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IN 2019.

SHE LIVED IN HER HOME IN BANNING AND WORKED & WORSHIPPED WITH HER CHURCH FAMILY AT THE BEAUMONT CHURCH OF CHRIST UNTIL HER DEBILITATING ILLNESS IN JANUARY 2024. KAREN THEN RESIDED AT A BOARD & CARE HOME IN RANCHO MIRAGE, CA UNTIL HER PASSING.

KAREN LOVED BEING IN NATURE, LOVED TO LAUGH, LOVED HER CATS DEARLY, LOVED HER FAMILY & FRIENDS AND LOVED HER LORD.

KAREN WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER PARENTS, FATHER BILL BROWN SR. AND MOTHER PATRICIA (PAT) BROWN. KAREN IS SURVIVED BY HER SISTER, SUSAN HUDSON; BROTHER, BILL BROWN JR.; BROTHER IN LAW, SHANNON HUDSON; SISTER IN LAW, KENA BROWN; NIECE, ALANA HUDSON; NEPHEWS, ALEXIS, DANIEL & ALLAN AND GREAT NEPHEW, MAX.

A SERVICE TO CELEBRATE KAREN'S LIFE WILL BE HELD ON SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18TH AT 10:30 AM AT INDIO CHURCH OF CHRIST LOCATED AT 81377 AVENUE 46, INDIO CA 92201.
