Karen Cassara Obituary
West Winfield, NY
Karen G. Cassara, 64, of West Winfield, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at the Abraham House in Rome.
She was born on August 3, 1961 in Holyoke, Massachusetts a daughter of the late William and Gloria (Towle) Renaud. She was a 1981 graduate of St. Petersburg FL. High School. Karen was a very proud daughter of her father who served as a Staff Sgt. During the Korean War.
On July 12, 1986 in St. Petersburg, FL she was united in marriage to Anthony Cassara, a blessed union of over 39 years. Karen was employed for many years with Publix Grocery Store in St. Petersburg prior to moving to New York in 2012.
In her free time she enjoyed needlepoint, cross stitching, and making blankets. She enjoyed all types of arts and crafts projects. She also enjoyed her many trips to the casino where she enjoyed playing games of chance. Mostly it was the time that she spent with her family that was important to her, especially her adored grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Anthony Cassara, her children, Anthony Cassara Jr. Jenifer (Ryan) Hale, three grandchildren, Kayla and Gloria Reichert and Anastasia Hale. She was predeceased by her daughter Kimberly Cassara who just passed away this past November, also a brother William Renaud.
The family wishes to sincerely thank the staff of the Abraham House in Rome for the wonderful care complemented by true compassion that was given to Karen during her stay there. Also a special thank you to the first responders in Brookfield and Bridgewater.
Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are with the Dimbleby Funeral Homes West Winfield.
