Karen J. Chapko, 77, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025. She was born in South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduated from South Milwaukee High School (Class of 1966), and lived there most of her life. She later moved to Franklin, followed by a move to Pewaukee, to be closer to her family.
Karen was a dedicated employee of Rockwell Automation/Allen-Bradley for her entire 43-year career, serving as an administrative assistant to numerous people and offices across the country.
Karen, first and foremost, loved her family, along with the many friends and coworkers who had been part of her life. She enjoyed trips to Door County, cheering on Wisconsin sports teams both on television and in person, and visiting craft fairs to find items to decorate her home for all seasons and all occasions.
She took great pride in being a mother and grandmother. She is loved and missed by her son, Scott (Carrie) Chapko, her grandson, AJ, and many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Violet Wajgel (née Schubert), and her best friend and former husband, Jerry Chapko.
We are deeply grateful to all who surrounded Karen with such love and care, especially the wonderful staff at Visiting Angels, The Waters of Pewaukee, and Brighton Hospice.
Funeral will be held on Monday, October 6, 2025, at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME (380 Bluemound Rd,
