Karen Stockdale Colasinski, 66, of Oxnard, California, formerly of Humboldt, passed away on Friday evening, June 23, 2023 at the St. John’s Medical Center in Oxnard.

She was born November 14, 1956 in Fort Dodge, the daughter of Marvin and Marlene (Pederson) Stockdale.  She was raised in Humboldt, attended Rutland Grade School then Humboldt schools and high school.  She moved to California and raised her boys in Santa Yuez.  She later returned to Humboldt to be close to family.  Karen worked in food and beverages at Prairie Ridge Casino where she met William “Bill” Colasinski, they were united in marriage on July 11, 1998.  Upon the birth of her first grandson, the couple returned to California where they managed a storage facility for twenty years.  As a published author of self-help and Christian inspirational literature, she was faith focused, independent and strongly guided by her faith and love for family.

Karen is survived by her husband Bill of Oxnard, sons Matt (Samantha) Sandvig of Vero Beach, Florida and Luke Sandvig of Palm Bay, Florida, her grandchildren Austin, Jackson and Ella, her mother Marlene Stockdale of Humboldt, Dave (Pam) Stockdale, Susan (Randy) Allen all of Humboldt, Peggy (Jim) Day of Bradgate and Joe Stockdale of Fort Dodge.  She was preceded in death by her father Marvin and sister Laura Stockdale.

Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 15th, with Pastor Dave Mork officiating.  Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service, both at the Mason-Lindhart Funeral & Cremation Service in Humboldt.  Burial will be in Indian Mound Cemetery.   www.masonlindhart.com
