Karen David Obituary
Karen Lee David, 79 years old, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, peacefully passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
Karen was born on March 19, 1945, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to the late Dr. William and Eloise Borah. As a military child, Karen lived and moved around the states and abroad from Michigan, California, Colorado to China, Japan, Washington D.C., Texas, Florida, Italy, France and back to California to finish High School. After High School, she completed her Licensed Practical Nurse training in Holyoke, Massachusetts, where she met and married her Husband, Dr. Tony David, in 1967. Karen dedicated herself as a full-time mom and homemaker, raising three boys as an Air Force wife moving around the United States over the next twenty years. Karen and Tony retired from the Air Force in 1987, settling in Kansas before moving back to the Fort Walton Beach area at the end of their careers.
Karen was an outgoing person that always made friends wherever she went. Traveling, exploring, and meeting new people along the way were some of her favorite past times. She was an avid tennis player, gardener, master cook and active member of Fort Walton Yacht Club, and the FWB Garden Club. Karen was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Colonel Tony David, and her brother-in-law, Rod Thatcher.
She is survived by son, Mark David (Dawn); son, Michael David (Lori); son, Jim David (Hannah); five grandchildren, Caleb, Delaney, Ella, Ash and Eloise; and three siblings: sister, Diane Thatcher, brother, William Borah (Patricia), and brother, James Borah (Beverly).
She will be buried alongside her husband in Barrancas National Cemetery on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. A special thanks to all her friends and neighbors over the years; she loved and appreciated you all. She and the David family requests no flowers; you may donate to the charity of your choice.

Karen was like family to us. We spent time together boating, playing games and enjoying the yacht club. Everytime I took a picture of her, she had to see if it was good enough for her memorial. She would be happy with the picture her family chose. She will be missed dearly. - Steve Mee & Tammi Brant
