Karen De Castro (Nee Budnick) January 19 th, 1941 – January 19 th, 2025, Redding Ca. from
Philadelphia Pa was called home. She is survived by her husband Armando, children Craig (Jennifer), Adam (Denise) Richard (Emelda). Michelle (Boise), and Michael (Mitch). Also survived by her grand and great grandchildren Lance, Tyler, Brianna (Conor), Jeremy (Amanda), Alex (Micaela), Declan, and Gavin (twins), Theresa and Tricia (twins), Erica, Dave, Sean, Tyron, Jay, and Mikmik, Her great grandchildren Chase, Mason, Giuliana, and Hayden. Karen had seven siblings. She is predeceased by her brother Dennis and survived by six siblings, Barbara, Steve, Jeffrey, Andrea, Phyllis, and Joanie. Although she had her own challenges initially as a young mother, she was able to overcome many obstacles and become
a business owner and dedicated mother. Karen understood the importance of hard work and good work ethics. As a business owner, she was very good to her employees often referencing and treating them as family. Karen loved playing the slot machines and enjoyed knitting. She died peacefully on her 84th birthday at the Copper Ridge Care Center in Redding California surrounded by her family and many incredible staff members. Because of the complications surrounding State-to-State arrangements, Karen's funeral arrangements are going to be finalized once she returns to Philadelphia, Pa. from Redding California. Services will be held at the Roosevelt Memorial Cemetery in the Chapel.
Karen's arrangements are under the care of Allen and Dahl Funeral Chapel in Redding (530) 243-1525.
