Karen Downton Obituary
Karen was born on May 7, 1957, in Lima, Ohio, to Raleigh & Gertrude (Thomas) Batty who both preceded her in death. On July 31, 1998, she married Robert Downton who survives her in Lima.
Karen was a 1975 graduate of Lima Senior High School. She retired from The Old Barn Out Back. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling and playing cards. Karen was a phenomenal cook. Above all, Karen loved her family. She cherished spending time with her husband, her children, and her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by many.
In addition to her husband, Karen is survived by her daughter, Anika (DaShawn) Florence, her son, Quentin Daniel, her step sons, Jeff (Vicki) Downton, Michael Downton, and Cletus Jackson, her 35 grandchildren, her 15 great-grandchildren, her siblings, Gail Hill, Romaine (LeRoy) Jackson, Deborah Batty, Iris Cousey, Lloyd (Shelly) Batty, Elton Batty, Janice Savage, and Jessica (Daniel) Wright, and her special friends, Hilda and Leatrice.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her siblings, Sherman Tyson, Herman Tyson, and Mark Batty.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Second Baptist Church: 520 W Spring St. Lima, OH 45801. Reverend Shawn Russell to officiate the service. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 19, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Second Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Karen's honor may be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.

I just learned of Karen's passing today. Where do I even start? Karen's was a sweet, caring, jolly woman. I have known her since I was 17 working at thr Old Barn Out Back. We would joke, talk about life, bowling, you name it. She would see me and run up to hug me, always loved that about her, her jolly personality.
I had not seen her since 2017, but thought about her often. I hope her family finds peace in wonderful memories, and that Karen is home. I'm going to miss that woman. Take care, Karen, from your favorite cracka
