Karen Gohler Obituary
A graduate of John Adams High School, Karen's youthful spirit and zest for knowledge were evident in her varied interests and pursuits. She was an avid horseback rider, dedicating many years to tending to her horses, a testament to her deep-rooted love for animals. Karen's home was often a haven for strays, as she could never turn away a creature in need. Her hands were rarely idle, as she enjoyed knitting when she was not caring for an animal.
Karen's curiosity about the world extended beyond her immediate surroundings. She invested time in learning about Chinese and Asian history and current events, enriching her understanding of the world. Her appreciation for the past also shone through her love of antiques, each piece a story and a memory preserved in time.
Family was the cornerstone of Karen's life. She is survived by her loving children; Melissa Lawson of Jacksonville, FL, Chris (Jessica) Tucker of South Bend, IN, and Mike Tucker of Round Rock, Texas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren; Rachel (Chase) Manges, Elizabeth Tucker, Joshua (Megan) Lawson, Hope (Tyler) Wood, and Lucy Tucker, and her great-grandchildren, Everleigh Manges, and Jaxson Wood.
Karen also leaves behind her devoted sister, Vicki Johnson, and her brother, Jim (Jan) Rea. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Marsha Miller, with whom she now rests in peace.
In keeping with Karen's wishes, there will be no services. Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel at 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46628 is assisting the family with arrangements. Those wishing to express their condolences can do so at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

Karen´s son Mike was a close friend of mine. She was a great mother to Mike and was always so kind to his friends. It was a gift to have known her.
