Karen V. Haselwood, 82, passed away on Friday, November 14, 2025, at Little Chute Heath Care. She was born on November 15, 1942, in Neenah, the daughter of Walter and Harriet (Garrow) Akstulewicz. Karen was employed as a lunch ticket lady with Shattuck Middle School for many years, retiring in 1995. She married James Haselwood on December 27, 2014. In her free time, she loved bowling, going up north to camp and fish, and watching Wheel of Fortune. She will be fondly remembered by her friends as the “Bingo Queen” for her love of bingo. Karen will be missed dearly by her friend Stacy De Sotel, who she spent many years working with at EAA.
Karen is survived by her husband: Jim; 2 children: DeAnne (Dennis) Peters and Brian (Debbie) Sawyer; 2 grandchildren: Brandon and Lance (Jaci) Mucha; 6 great grandchildren: Lily, Lucy, Rayden, Nash, Sebastian, and EllaRae; other relatives and friends.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents; 1st and 2nd husbands: Charles Sawyer and Charles Miller; and 4 brothers: Walter, Marvin, Eugene, and David Akstulewicz.
In keeping with Karen’s wishes, no formal service will be held.
Karen’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Little Chute Health Center, Compassus Hospice, and St. Elizabeth Hospital for their kindness, compassion, and care.
