Shirley and her husband, Lewis, traveled extensively, visiting 47 of the 50 U.S. states as well as many countries around the world. She enjoyed the company of her two miniature dachshunds, Lilly and Lucy. She was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church in Greenville, a community she loved dearly.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Jack Birney Curry, Jr. (1996).

She is also survived by her brother, Edward William Flanagan, Jr. (Dena) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and by her beloved niece and nephew, Christine Corbett and Kenneth Flanagan.
