Obituary of Karen Lynn Kovac
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Karen Lynn Kovac, who left us on August 18 at the age of 64. Karen was born on September 17, 1959, in Irvington, NJ, to John and Rosemary Kovac. She graduated from Union High School in 1977 and immediately went to work at CIBA-GEIGY.
Karen is survived by her soul mate and husband, Robert Vandenberg. They met in Irvington, NJ, and were together for 47 years. They loved celebrating holidays, and this Halloween would have marked 33 years of marriage. They made their homes in Orange, NJ, Lakehurst, NJ, and Saylorsburg, PA. They will be remembered for their love for their dogs and generosity to their neighbors. Karen was a tireless worker who made a great number of dear friends through her fun-loving and caring personality.
Karen is also survived by her brother John Kovac, his wife Mary and their children J.T. and Meghan; her sister Diane Fanders, her husband Roy and their children Jennifer and Justin; her uncle Edward and aunt Marie Kovac; her godsons Eddie Kovac and Justin Fanders; and all the rest of her cousins Joseph Kovac, Debra Siegrist, Ronald Kovac, Cynthia Keller, Kenneth Kovac, Kimberly Harmon and Amy Labella.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 22nd, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Higgins Home for Funerals, 752 Mountain Blvd., Watchung, NJ.
