Karen S. (Smith) Lindquist, 71, passed peacefully on August 30, 2025 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Karen is survived by her children, Angela (Jason) Patchen, Jacob (Trisha Everitt) Lindquist; grandchildren Phoebe and Harvey; brother Warren 'Ed' (Sue) Smith; sister Kay Frost; brother-in-law Byron (Tina) Lindquist; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Karen was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years G. Kevin Lindquist, her parents Walter and Helen (Hill) Smith, and her brother David Smith.
Karen retired from Wood County Educational Service Center in 2019 where she had worked as a secretary for nearly 30 years. Karen was well known for her sense of humor and laughter. Karen was an active and engaged grandmother, risking life and limb to do all the fun things she could with her grandchildren. Karen also loved animals, especially her dog, goats, cat, small flock of chickens and her many granddogs. Karen enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
A visitation and brief service will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 10-12 p.m. at SMITH-CRATES FUNERAL HOME in North Baltimore, OH.
