Karen Ann Locke

Karen Ann Locke, of Sterling Heights, passed away peacefully on February 1st, 2024 after a six year battle with cancer. She was 69 years of age.
Karen was born in Detroit on August 17th, 1954 and graduated from Stevenson High School in Sterling Heights. She found her calling in the cemetery and funeral business as a sales woman for 30-plus years.
A devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend Karen was happiest when she was spending time with family and friends. She absolutely adored her grandchildren, never missing an opportunity to be near them. She was a devout believer in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Karen was also quite the seamstress who enjoyed sewing and was always willing to help mend clothing or hem drapes.
Karen's wonderful humor and infectious laugh along with her kindness, determination, incredible faith and selflessness will be sorely missed.
Karen is survived by her son Matthew Matzkvich and her siblings Deborah Locke and Keith (Tammy) Locke. She is predeceased by her sister Chari Weiskirch and her parents, Jim and Judy Locke. She leaves behind two grandchildren: James Matzkvich and Peyton Keyes.
The family invites friends and well-wishers to join them in celebrating Karen's life at the Wm. Sullivan and Son Funeral Home 8459 Hall Road, Utica on Monday February 5th from 2pm - 8pm. Funeral Service will take place on Tuesday February 6th at 11am. Karen will be laid to rest at Utica cemetery 46325 Shelby Rd., Shelby township. As we mourn the loss of Karen, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the love she so generously shared with those fortunate enough to know her. May her memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
