Karen Loehrer, 79, of Revillo, SD, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at her home near Revillo.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank. Fr. Brian Eckrich will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday. Inurnment will be held at St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery.
Karen Lee Foster was born on March 13, 1945, in Ortonville, MN, to Elmer and Delores (Love) Foster. She was baptized and confirmed at First United Methodist Church in Ortonville and attended Ortonville High School. After completing her education, she worked as a waitress at several restaurants. On October 15, 1966, Karen married Lawrence “Larry” Loehrer in Milbank, SD. The couple first lived in Bellingham, MN, before settling on their farm near Revillo, where they resided for 56 years. Together, they were blessed with three children: Mark, Scott, and Jeanie. Karen played an active role on the farm, assisting Larry whenever needed, and took great pride in being a homemaker. A devoted member of the Annunciation Catholic Church in Revillo for many years, Karen held various roles within the congregation until the church closed. She enjoyed reading, gardening, yard work, visiting casinos, and watching the Vikings. Additionally, she regularly donated blood—a testament to her generous spirit. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her grandchildren. Karen is survived by her husband, Larry Loehrer of Revillo, SD; her children: Mark Loehrer of Revillo, SD; Scott (Leslie) Loehrer of Victoria, MN; and Jeanie (Rod) Siem of Apple Valley, MN; her grandchildren: Misti (Bobby) Hanson and their children: Isabel and Kilee; Nikole (Matthew) Terrado and their children: Lyric, Lainey, Lennon, and Linden; Connor Loehrer; Kasie (Zac) Cushing and their son, Malakai; Jenna (Ben) Krych; Faith (Jose) Morejon; Ellie Loehrer; and wife of late grandson, Jenna Chandler, and their children: Tilly, Harper, and Gabe of Bemidji MN; as well as her sister, Kathleen "Kathy" Foster of Milbank, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents: Elmer and Delores Foster; her grandson, Jacob Chandler; her sisters: Betty Foster and Katherine “Katie” Foster; and her brother, Jerry Foster.
