Karen (Christenson) Lundberg passed away on October 15, 2024 at the Charter House in Rochester. She had been in the care of Charter House Supportive Living for the past 18 months and recently Seasons Hospice.
Karen Ruth Christenson was born on March 17,1943 to Orrin and Louise Christenson at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, MN. She grew up on her parent's dairy farm in Wendell, MN. In her youth, Karen was involved in 4-H showing cattle, was a talented piano player and helped out on the family farm.
Karen married Richard Lundberg on November 2,1963 at West Elbow Lake Lutheran Church. They made their home in Rochester, MN, where they spent over 60 years together. Karen dedicated her life to raising their three children and ensuring they had a good education. She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family first. Karen cherished each grandchild that was added to her family.
Karen was active at Our Savior's Lutheran Church for many years, serving on the Altar Guild and participating in Bible studies and Women's Circle. Most recently, she was an active member of Autumn Ridge Church.
Karen loved cooking, playing Bingo, and music - especially the piano, which she played nearly every day. She was also involved in the Eagles Club in Rochester and enjoyed participating in a women's bowling league, creating many close friendships over the years.
Karen is survived by her loving husband, Richard; children Paul (Eileen) Lundberg of Minnetonka, MN, Linda (Ronald) Hougen of Decorah, IA, and Kristine (Christopher) Erickson of Excelsior, MN. She was a proud grandmother to Izaak, Aaron, Ethan, Hannah, Kaya, Deborah, Regine, Miriam, and Lydia, and great-grandmother to Mason, Micah, and Eden. She is also survived by her brother, Gerald; sister, Darla (Gene); sister-in-law, Mary; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Karen was preceded in death by her parents, Orrin and Louise; her brother, Odell; sister-in-law, Anita; and her granddaughter, Olivia.
A memorial service will be held at Autumn Ridge Church - Timothy Chapel (3611 Salem Road SW) in Rochester on November 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with visitation an hour before the service at the church.
