Karen L (Mettler) Mattice, age 82, of Van Buren township, NY, passed away on Monday November 18, 2024 at her home. She was born to her late parents, Genevieve (Wood) and Harry Mettler on October 16, 1942 in Syracuse, New York.
Karen was a 1960 graduate of West Genesee High School in the town of Camillus, NY. She went to work for N.Y. Telephone Co., and later was employed by A.D.P. Payroll Co. for 13 years, retiring in 1998.
Pre-deceased by her husband of 37 years, Edward A. Mattice in 2002. Ed had been strickened with cancer and suffered a long battle.
Karen was also pre-deceased by her two brothers James Mettler and Thomas Mettler.
Surviving are her two daughters Deborah (Parlow) Baxter and her husband Danny Baxter, Lisa M. (Parlow) Stever and her husband Barry Stever; her son Michael E. Mattice and his wife Teresa Mattice; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces & nephews; her companion "Noah" a rescue Border Collie-the love of her life for many years.
"If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses, and all prejudice against my fellow man". Karen was a member of the Cornerstone United Methodist Church, State Rt. 370, Baldwinsville. Karen had desired to donate her body to Upstate Medical University anatomical gift program, however current circumstances prevented her acceptance into the program.
Per Karen's wishes, there are no visitation or funeral services.
