Mrs. Karen Kay Crom Moore, 81, of Richmond, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Karen was born on February 4, 1944, in Sioux City, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Carl and Viola Richardson Crom, and grew up in the small community of Blencoe, Iowa.
Karen was the retired administrative assistant at Telford YMCA. She was an active member of The First Baptist Church. There she had been a faithful member of the adult choir. In addition she had served as church treasurer and served on many committees of the church.
Survivors include her husband of almost 60 years: Wendell Prewitt Moore; two sons: Douglas Carl Moore and Wade Ryan Moore (Nancy); daughter-in-law: Melanie Moore; several grandchildren including Autumn Moore (Jessie Ritchey), Jonathan Moore, Taylor Moore, Jacob Moore, Erica Back, Cooper Moore, Andrew Moore (Amber) and Sarah Saylor (Eric); several great-grandchildren including Wyatt Ritchey, Laurel Ritchey and Kingston Back; as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by children Carol LeAnn Moore, Cheryl Lee Moore and Steve Moore; daughter-in-law: Donna Moore; and her brother and three sisters: Charles Crom, Jean Ping, Marilyn Castle and Priscilla Frisk.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at The First Baptist Church, 425 Eastern Bypass, with Dr. Travis Farris and Rev. Bill Fort officiating. Burial will follow in the Richmond Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM Wednesday at First Baptist Church.
Pallbearers are Jessie Ritchey, Jonathan Moore, Taylor Moore, Cooper Moore, Tim Hall and Eric Saylor.
Honorary Pallbearers are John Caldwell and Ron and Lisa Murray.
In honor of Karen Moore, memorial contributions may be made The First Baptist Church Building Fund, 425 Eastern Bypass, Richmond, Kentucky 40475
