Karen Elizabeth Perry

Karen Elizabeth Perry, age 79, departed this earth December 26th, 2022, at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was born June 28, 1943, in Gary, Indiana, to John and Ruth Mulroe. She was preceded in death by both of her parents and two brothers, Michael and Patrick Mulroe. Karen was a 42- year educator at various school districts in Indiana and Missouri. Her favorite subject to teach was math and she spent her last years teaching remedial math and sponsoring math club. She loved seeing her students excel. Until recently you could find her subbing in classrooms at Nixa schools. It was her way of staying connected to children and the school district. Anyone who knew Karen knew that her home was her happy place. She loved working in her yard, swimming in her pool, relaxing in her hot tub, decorating her whole house for every holiday, but most of all she enjoyed reading while snuggled on the couch with her beloved dachshund, Annie. She was a member of Aldersgate Methodist Church of Nixa, MO, and thoroughly enjoyed her Sunday School class there. She leaves behind many friends and various cousins from Illinois, Indiana, and Florida. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
