Karen M. Pridgen (Campbell)
Bay City, Michigan
Our loving sister and aunt passed away at her home on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, age 78. She was born on February 8, 1947, in Bay City, Michigan, the daughter of the late Leroy "Roy" D. and Georgianna "Gen" (Fournier) Campbell, Sr.
Karen was a 1965 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Bay City. She worked as a shipping and export specialist at Euclid Industries in Bay City for 14 years, retiring in 2013. Faith was central to her life. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Peace Parish (St. Mary of the Assumption Church), where she served as a lector, Eucharistic minister, and member of St. Mary's Altar Society.
On June 3, 1989, Karen married the love of her life, Donald R. Pridgen, at St. Benedict's Catholic Church in Anchorage, Alaska. Donald predeceased her on September 14, 1998. While in Alaska, Karen was very active in her community, serving as past president of the Anchorage International Consumers Credit Association and Anchorage Alaska Credit Women's Association. She was also a member of the League of Catholic Men and Women and the Society of Certified Consumer Credit Executives.
Karen was a woman who found joy in reading. Although she was soft spoken and often quiet, she was content in her own company and enjoyed the simple comforts of home.
She is survived by her siblings: Duane (Patsy) Campbell, Tom (Jenny) Campbell, Lee (Barb) Campbell, Patsy Clark, and Agnes (Greg) Laube, stepdaughter Lisa Owen and step grandson Keith Paul Owen III. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who will remember her with love.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Donald; her parents Roy and Gen Campbell; her sister Lisa Campbell; her sister Janice (Hannu) Tiitola; her brother Joseph Campbell; her brother-in-law Bruce Clark; and her nephew Paul Clark.
Karen's family and friends will forever treasure the memory of her quiet strength, her faithful service, and her gentle spirit.
The Funeral Mass for Karen will be celebrated Friday, October 10, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Our Lady of Peace Parish-607 E. South Union Street, Bay City, MI 48706. Fr. Nate Harburg will celebrate Mass and interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at the church on Friday from 9:00 AM until the time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider monetary donations to Our Lady of Peace Food Pantry. Final arrangements were entrusted to Squires Funeral Home, 211 N. Henry Street, Bay City, MI 48706. squiresfuneralhome.com
