Thurman Joseph Pridgen, Jr. was born on December 10, 1984, at Jersey City Medical Center. Affectionately known as "Jr." or "JayR," he attended Kintop, George Washington Carver, and Dr. Martin Luther King Elementary Schools, before continuing his education at West Side High School.
Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, Minta and Thurman Pridgen. He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Pridgen, and his children: Samir, Samad, Saniyah, and Samar Pridgen. He also leaves behind his siblings Marvin Battle, Terrance Battle, Rinita Battle, Shawnita Battle, Shakeea Battle, Tyronda Pridgen, and his extended brother Amil McCall.
Jr. was deeply loved by his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He had a passion for music and loved to dance. Some of his happiest moments were spent grilling for family and friends and cheering on the New York Giants.
Jr. was a strong man with big plans for his family. He will truly be missed and forever loved.
