Karen Su (Reeves) Spreier-King
10/16/49 - 3/28/25
Our dear mother, Karen Su Spreier-King, sadly passed away on March 28, 2025, at the age of age 75. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support and love in abundance. Karen's greatest joy in life was her family. In 1969 Karen married her first love Duane Spreier and together they raised two children. He sadly passed in September 2001. She was also able to share the love of James "Jim" King, from 2004 until his passing in December 2021.
Karen spent most of her adult life as a member of the Jetmore community, where she was known for her big heart. She cared for others in various ways through her love of cooking at the Hideout Bar & Grill & her love of people at the Hodgeman County Health Center.
She was predeceased by her two loving spouses, Duane Spreier & James "Jim" King; parents Charlene Reeves, Donald & Edith Reeves; and Siblings Donna Bee, Gary Reeves, Patti Griffith, and Cindy Baird.
Karen's memory will be cherished and kept alive as the best Mother to Shawn Spreier & Sherry (Spreier) Johnson, husband Dan; Grandma to beloved Alicia (Grover) Derusseau, husband Zane, Kenzie Pitmon-Spreier, wife Cherokee, Bailey Spreier, Katelyn Johnson and Alyssa Johnson; and Great Grandma to her cherished Duke Derusseau; and step-sibling to Dotti Schuckman, Bill Teater, Tom Teater and Sister-in-law Diane Spreier. She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews and countless friends.
To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a memorial service will be held in her honor at The King Center in Jetmore, Kansas on Friday, April 11th at 1:00 pm. We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman.
