URBANA – Karen Stevens, 82 of Urbana, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at Springfield Regional Medical Center.
Karen was born on Jan. 24, 1943 in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Marguerite (Poorman) Mahan.
A 1961 graduate of Graham High School, Karen went on to attend Miami University and taught elementary at Miami East. She was a devoted member of the Terre Haute Community Church, where she served as church secretary for 42 years. In her free time, Karen found joy working in her garden and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Above all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends, who will remember her fondly for her warmth, kindness, and dedication.
She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years Neil Stevens; daughters, Amanda (David) Baker and Sara (Rasesh) Patel; grandchildren, Andrew (Kayla) Baker, Ian (Ellie Fout) Baker, Rani Patel, Kira Patel, Myles Patel; sister, Carol Shank; brother, Gerald (Judy) Mahan; sisters-in-law, Gail (Steve) Murry and Jane (Brian) Lynott; brother-in-law, Lynn (Barbara) Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, John Shank.
A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025 in VERNON FUNERAL HOME, Urbana.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, 2025 in Terre Haute Community Church.
Burial will follow in Terre Haute Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Terre Haute Community Church, 5938 St. Rt. 55, Urbana, Ohio.
