Karen Sue Townsend born on September 12, 1960, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away on August 13, 2025, in Winchester, Kentucky. She was a dedicated daycare provider who cared for many children throughout her career, touching the lives of families in her community.
Karen will be remembered for her love of animals, her passion for fishing with her husband during their younger days, and above all, her devotion to her family. She found joy in the simple things in life and cherished moments with her loved ones.
She is survived by her beloved husband of over 30 years, Steven Townsend. Karen is also survived by her sister, Deborah (Daniel) Deeter; her sister, Judy (Matt) Rabold; and her daughter, Lorissa (Rodney) Collins, along with a host of other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Karen was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Gelois Brandenburg (nee Woliver); her father, Willus Brandenburg; and her sister, Paula Marie Brandenburg.
No services will be scheduled at this time.
