Karen Chapman Weathers, 69, of Spartanburg, SC passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025. She was born March 19, 1956, a daughter of the late Frank and Mary West Chapman.
Born and raised in Spartanburg, she attended Spartanburg High School. Karen’s career path was as diverse and vibrant as her personality. She worked as a skilled glassblower with Fallon Glass, in the billing department at Spartanburg Regional Hospital System, as a real estate agent with Karen Pence Realty, a dedicated custodian at First Baptist Spartanburg, and as the proud owner and operator of her own residential cleaning business. No matter the job, she poured her whole heart into her work and touched many lives along the way.
Above all, Karen was the greatest Nana anyone could ask for. She was deeply devoted to the children in her family, cherishing every moment spent crafting with her granddaughter and making memories that will last a lifetime. With an incredible green thumb, she found great joy in her garden, nurturing it as lovingly as she did those around her. Her kitchen was always open — Karen loved to cook and feed anyone who came into her life.
A true Good Samaritan and caregiver, Karen was always giving to others, whether family, friends, or neighbors. Her generous spirit and kind heart left a lasting impression on all who knew her. She loved to travel and found great joy in trips to Myrtle Beach, Gatlinburg, and on cruises. Some of her happiest moments were spent alongside her sisters, taking trips and upholding cherished family traditions.
She is survived by her daughters, Clarisa Dawn Weathers-Seek (Eric) and Anna Danielle Ayers; grandchildren, Fynlee Weathers-Seek, Jackson Ayers, and Isabella Ayers; sisters, Yvonne Foster, Wanda Chapman, Donna Rawls (Ricky), Teresa Smith (Mike), and Bernice Timmons (Todd); brother, Frankie Chapman (Sherry); and many beloved nieces and nephews. Karen was predeceased by her loving husband, Larry James Weathers.
Visitation will be 12:00-2:00 PM on Saturday, June 7, 2025 at The J. M. Dunbar Funeral Home & Crematory, 690 Southport Road, Roebuck, SC 29376.
