Karen Sue White

Karen Sue White, age 78, of Edwardsville, Kansas, and previously of DeSoto, Kansas, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025. A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
Karen was born on August 23, 1947, in Sacramento, California, and was the oldest of six children born to Charles & Martha Scharff. She was raised in Emporia, Kansas, where she attended school. Family was everything to Karen; whether she was caring for her children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren, they all meant the world to her. She also enjoyed game shows, playing Bingo, and going on rides "just to get out of the house". Karen married George Wayne White on December 9, 1965, and together they raised their family in Emporia and later in Bonner Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Marsha Scharff, her brother-in-law Allen Wagner, and her husband George Wayne White.
Survivors include her four children: Lori Lynne Conquest and her husband Kirk of Osage Beach, MO; Billy Wayne White of Emporia, KS; Jason Duane White and his wife Billie Jo of Bonner Springs, KS; Joshua James White and his wife Tara, also of Bonner Springs, KS. Four Siblings: Mary Howard (John ) of Fredonia, KS., Charles Eugene Scharff, Jr. of Sullivan, IN. Charlene Wagner of Neosho Rapids, KS. Fred Scharff (Beth) of Sullivan, IN. As well as 17 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
