Karina Monique Lozada

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved Karina Monique Lozada, also known as Kari, on October 15, 2025, at the tender age of 22 years. Karina was born to Luz Hernández and the late Gabriel Lozada on February 12, 2003, in Springfield, MA. She was the cherished sister to Vincent Ayala, and a caring family member to Betsy Rosa and Wanda Pagan. She was also a treasured granddaughter to Luis Lindao. Her love and generosity knew no bounds; she was a beacon of light to her family and friends.
Karina, often nicknamed Golda or Monique, was an incredibly compassionate and loving individual. Her humor was infectious, and her generosity was unparalleled. Karina had an affinity for the simple pleasures in life. She found joy in coloring books, and her journals were filled with thoughts and dreams that reflected her rich inner world. She had a profound love for her son Elias, whose life was the center of her universe. She was a devoted mother, who showered her son with love and affection. Karina was also a proud recipient of an Associate's degree in Social Work, an achievement that showcased her deep desire to help others. As Mother Teresa said, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." Karina embodied this sentiment in every aspect of her life.
Karina's life, though brief, was filled with moments of love and laughter. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Karina is survived by her loving husband, Derek Spencer, her son Elias, and her extended family members. She was preceded in death by her father, Gabriel Lozada. As we mourn Karina's untimely departure, we also celebrate her life, cherishing the memories we shared with her.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and Friday, October 31, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, at Puerta Del Cielo® Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, MA., followed by her burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, 426 Bay Street, Springfield, MA.
