Karl "Jake" Bean, 70, of Bean Settlement, WV passed away on August 14, 2023 while on his adventure of a lifetime in Alaska.
Born on December 7, 1952 in Petersburg, WV he was the son of the late Marvin Bean and Olene Evans Bean.
Jake was a graduate of Moorefield High School. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He found great joy in traveling with his children and grandchildren and teaching them to hunt and fish. He was known for his giving nature and always helped others in need. He worked hard and loved his family deeply. After retiring from his siding business, Karl Bean Siding, Jake spent his retirement in Florida and West Virginia. He was well known for his secret jerky recipe and his home cooking. He loved his land, his dog Reno and the Redskins.
Jake is survived by his daughters, Lisa Bean Pettersson (Fredrik) of San Diego, CA and Amy Bean of Duluth, MN; his former wife Patricia LaSalle Bean of Ocean Springs, MS; and his grandchildren Courteney, Patrick and Noa. He is also survived by his sister Carol Lindsey of Baker, WV; brother Gary Bean (Janet) of Moorefield, WV; nephew and nieces Marcus, Chenoa and Shawna; loved ones Sean LaSalle (Ginger), JoAnne Kitts and Michael LaSalle (Teresa); and many other family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Please join us as we honor Karl with a Celebration of Life on December 2, 2023 at 2pm at the Bean Settlement Community Center in Baker, WV.
