Karl Cecil Cox, 68, a resident of Baker, LA, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2025. Born on September 1, 1957, Karl lived a full and meaningful life centered around faith, family, and hard work.
Karl was a man who never sat still for long—he loved to stay busy, always finding something to work on or someone to lend a helping hand to. He spent many years as a dedicated laborer and proud union worker, known for his unmatched work ethic. Karl enjoyed building houses, working as a mechanic, and at one point had a great passion for lifting weights, always valuing strength and perseverance. Beyond his trade, Karl was also a pastor who shared his heart for God with everyone he met. His words, kindness, and steady presence touched countless lives.
Though he left high school early, Karl later pursued and earned his GED. Proving it’s never too late to learn and grow, he then went on to graduate top of his class as a Radiology Technician from MedVance Institute, an achievement that reflected his perseverance and determination.
More than anything, Karl was a family man. He leaves behind his children, Kainan Cox, Kharie Pertuis (Chase), and Kollin Cox, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his siblings, Harold Gene Cox Jr., Kenneth Cox (Kim), Lisa Gautreau, and Carole Bilbao (John); and his former spouse and mother of his children, Debra Cox, who will forever cherish the memories they shared.
Karl is preceded in death by his parents, Harold Gene Cox Sr. and Peggy Ann Catterton, who await him in heaven.
Karl will be remembered for his big heart, his unwavering faith, and his willingness to help others no matter what. His love, laughter, and strength will live on through his family and all who were blessed to know him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Matthew 25:23
