Karla Scott, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in Henderson, NV on October 20, 2025, at the age of 73.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald “Scotty” Scott, with whom she shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Karla is survived by the children she welcomed into her life and loved wholeheartedly: Mark “Scotty” Scott and his wife Pauline, Claire Cheadle and her husband Bruce, Karen Wahlert and her husband Fred, Jeff Scott and his wife Christine, Leslie Meyr and her husband David, and her son Matthew Scott and his wife Elissa. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, her cherished cat Shadow, and extended family who will forever cherish her memory.
Karla was known for her warmth, humor, and fierce devotion to her family. She had a gift for making every gathering feel special and every person feel loved. Her quick wit and generous heart touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Per her wishes, there will be no formal services. She will be reunited in eternal rest with her husband at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, NV.
In lieu of flowers, those who wish to honor Karla’s memory may make a donation to the Gary Sinise Foundation, supporting veterans and first responders — a cause close to her and Scotty’s hearts.
Her love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
