Karlene Kay Gannon, Age 77, of Springfield, MO. passed away on September 5, 2025.

Karlene was born on January 4, 1948, in Oskaloosa, Iowa. She was named by her pastor, Reverend Carl Max Johnson. She graduated from Ottumwa High School in 1966 and shortly after, married her high school sweetheart, Norm Gannon on June 25, 1966. Together they shared 59 years of wonderful marriage. Norm was serving in the United States Air Force which allowed them to live in Mississippi, Alabama, and Oregon. They moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1973 with two young sons, Douglas and Andrew, so that Norm could attend Central Bible College. Additionally, they served as youth pastors in Alabama and at Bethel Assembly of God in Springfield, MO.

Karlene began her employment in July 1973 in the National Women's Ministries Department, a position she held until her retirement in 2019. In 1977 a daughter, Amy Aleda, joined this family. Karlene enjoyed singing, teaching Sunday School, working with girls' ministry, reading, and traveling. She visited seven countries on mission trips.

Surviving is her husband Norman, Son Douglas Edward (Glinnae), Daughter Amy Aleda (Mike) Mansker, Brother-in-Law Phillip Benjamin, Five Grandchildren, and many Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins.

Karlene was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Margeret Leatherman, Sister Marjorie Ann Foster, Brother Larry Paul Leatherman, Sister Rosemary Benjamin, Son Andrew Paul Gannon, Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law Clifford and Dorothy Gannon, Nephew Bryan Benjamin, Brother-in-Law Ronald Gannon, Sister-in-Law Joyce (Harrison) Mendenhall, Brother-in-Law Curtis W Gannon, Nephew Brian Mendenhall, Niece Stephanie Benjamin.

Visitation will be from 6-8pm at Greenlawn Funeral Home in Springfield MO on September 11, 2025.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM, Central Assembly of God Springfield, MO. on September 12, 2025, with burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
