Karola Kozlowska

Jun 21, 1949 - Aug 16, 2023 Karola Kinga Kozlowska passed away on Aug 16, 2023, at the age of 74. She was born in Katowice, Poland as the youngest of five children of Karol Kozlowski and Joanna Kozlowska.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by sister Jolanta Widuch, brother Ludwik Kozlowski (Joanna), her niece Krystyna Crawford (Brent), and nephews Tomasz Kozlowski (Ela), Peter Koslowski Jr.(Penny), Kamil Kozlowski Jr.(Lidia), Carl Kozlowski, Ludwik Kozlowski Jr., and Nick Kozlowski (Leslie), and great-niece Katharina Koslowski-Wick (Johannes), as well as several other extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Kamil Kozlowski (Liliana) and Peter Koslowski (Maria).
Karola was born with Down Syndrome, and was always a light of joy and love for all who knew her, especially her beloved family. She attended a special school and later worked jobs for the disabled both in Poland and Los Angeles, where she immigrated to in 1984 with her mother. They were lovingly cared for by her sister Jolanta Widuch and her late husband, Jan.
Karola always had a happy, cheerful disposition showing a lot of affection to all around her. When she saw someone sad she would say, Smile, remember after rain comes a sunshine". In addition to her jobs she helped cheerfully with chores around the house and enjoyed pleasant music, rides in the countryside and swimming in her pool. For the last several years of her life she was chronically ill, but visibly appreciative and thankful for the loving care she received from her faithful caregiver Veronica, and numerous family, friends, and caregivers who have also been devoted to her over the years.
Her funeral Mass will take place on Sat, Sept 2 at 11 am at St. Cyril of Jerusalem in Encino.
