Kassandra Balan Obituary

Born in Hamilton, she moved to South Carolina with her family in 2009, before moving back to the area in 2021. She graduated with honors from White Knoll High School in Lexington, SC, and she attended Winthrop University where she was a member of their fencing team that advanced to the Nationals in 2019. She loved animals and was very involved in animal rescue, the theatre, Disney World, Harry Potter, reading books, playing the flute, among other instruments, and she loved ketchup!
Pre-deceased by her maternal grandmother Joyce Webb and her paternal grandfather Henry Balan.
She is survived by her loving mother and step-father Kimberly and Raymond Smith of North, SC, her loving father Jeffrey Balan of West Columbia, SC, her siblings Jessica Zagami (Justin Smith) of Hamilton, and Joshua Balan of North, SC, her niece Evette Pressley, her Uncle Michael Webb, Uncle Gerald Balan, Aunt Michelle Balan, Aunt Alyson Balan, and cousins Craig Balan, Keith Balan, Eric Altman, Colin Webb.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2023, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Knott's Colonial Funeral Home 2946 South Broad Street Hamilton, NJ 08610.
Kindly omit flowers.
Memorial Contributions in Kassandra's name can be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org). Condolences for the family can be left at www.knottscolonialfuneralhome.com.
