Kathaleen Mabry Catron, age 83 of Elliottville, Kentucky passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025, at UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead, Kentucky.
Kathaleen was born on March 16, 1942 in Rowan County to the late Arthur and Nola Moore Mabry.
Beside her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Mabry and Emil Mabry and one great-granddaughter, Abigail Rose Wilson.
She was survived by her husband of 63 years, Jack Catron. Two daughters, Sue (Johnny) Wilson, Rhonda (Stuart) Read, and one sister Mary Fraley; two brothers, Clyde (Bernice) Mabry and Bob (Joyce) Mabry all of Morehead. Grandchildren: Ashley Wilson, Michael (Lindsay) Read, Jonathan (Brittany) Wilson and Stephen Read. Great grandchildren: Luke Wilson, Madison Wilson and Reagan Read. In addition, a beloved niece by marriage, Barbara Kiser, who was like a sister to her. Also, survived by several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kathaleen was a beloved wife, mom, mamaw and a friend to all who knew her. She radiated kindness to everyone and was always ready to lend a helping hand. She was a gifted seamstress who worked tirelessly by her husband’s side as he ran a used car dealership for over 40 years. Together, they formed a partnership that was not only professional, but deeply rooted with love along with a mutual admiration for one another.
She was the caretaker of not just her immediate family, but for others which enriched her life as well as the lives of others. She loved gardening, collecting dolls and bird watching.
Undoubtedly, her proudest accomplishment was her unwavering commitment to her family. The times spent together were her greatest joy, creating memories that will forever live in the hearts of her loved ones. Her legacy is one of love, creativity and an enduring spirit that celebrates the beauty of life.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, June 12, 2025, in the chapel of the Michael R Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Rev. Charles Moore officiating.
Visitation at the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead is from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of the service at 1:00 P.M.
Kathaleen will be laid to rest in the Catron Cemetery on Kentucky 504 near Elliottville.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Elliottville Fire Department.
