Katherine Bailey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sawyer-Fuller Funeral Home & Cremation Services on Jul. 17, 2024.
Katherine Andrea Bailey, a beacon of love and compassion, left this world on July 16, 2024, at the age of 51. Born on February 22, 1973, in Warren, MI, Katherine's life was one of dedication, joy, and the cherishing of family ties. Her final moments were spent in Warren, MI, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Katherine's journey through life was marked by her unwavering commitment to her loved ones. She married Richard Anthony Bailey on March 16, 2018, in Warren, Michigan. Katherine was a devoted mother to Michael Bergier and Alek Mullins and cherished the memory of her late son, Ryan Yelland. Her family circle includes her loving mother, Jill Darling, her stepfather Richard Darling, and her steadfast brother, Stephen C. Bergier. She was preceded in death by her father, Roman Bergier, whose spirit continued to guide her.
Katherine's academic achievements were a testament to her intelligence and drive. She graduated with a bachelor's degree from Baker College, which laid the foundation for her successful career as a Registered Cardiac Nurse. Her tenure at Ascension St. John Hospital in the 5 North ward was marked by her deep empathy, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to her patients' well-being. For this, she received the Daisy Award for excellence in nursing early in her career. Katherine's colleagues and patients alike will remember her for her gentle touch and reassuring presence.
Beyond her professional life, Katherine was a woman of diverse interests and boundless energy. She relished the time spent with her family, creating unforgettable memories with her children at music concerts, on travel adventures, and during treasure hunts that sparked the imagination. Katherine's love for her dog Chewy was evident in their daily walks and the special bond they shared. Her zest for life and her ability to find joy in the simple pleasures were truly infectious.
Katherine's legacy is one of love, service, and the bond that she had with her two sons. Her heart knew no bounds, and her spirit was as free as the wind. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and grace. As we say goodbye to Katherine Andrea Bailey, we celebrate the extraordinary life she led and the countless ways in which she made our world a better place.
Farewell, Katherine, until we meet again. Your life was a beautiful melody that will resonate for eternity. Your family and friends will carry your memory forward, ensuring that the love and happiness you spread will continue to bloom in the hearts of future generations. Bailey and family, this is a horrible unexpected tragedy y'all are going through right now. I hope through the pain y'all are able to find some peace in knowing she is with God. I know there is nothing anyone can do to change this situation or make it acceptable Katherine has passed, but if I can do anything, weather it be making a meal, helping clean up or go through things, walk chewy or dog sit, or just a shoulder.... I know the little gestures don't make the situation better and aren't much to offer, but know I'm here for y'all.
Sincerely calli tallman

Kate was in my first code blue. She flipped the patient from his belly onto his back like a pancake.
