Katherine M. Caudill, 88, of Titusville, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 20, 2025, at her residence following an extended illness.
Kate or Katie was born on December 6, 1936, in Titusville to the late Robert D. and Ruth A. Kertcher McGarvie. She married David L. Caudill on February 14, 1956. He preceded her in death on June 3, 1980.
She started her education in a one room schoolhouse on Dutch Hill Road near her childhood home. Later she attended Cherrytree elementary school. She graduated from Colestock High School's Class of 1954.
Prior to and after graduation Kate worked for Rodgers Grocery Market and Quality Market. Later she worked at Foster Forbes Glass in Rouseville and finished her employment in 1998 when she retired from Cytemp Specialty Steel.
Kate enjoyed gardening, antique hunting and decorating her home. Much of her time was spent sitting on her deck with her dog Benny watching the birds and other wildlife on her property. Kate most loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three sons, Edward L. Caudill and Rudy Holly of Phoenix AZ, David S. Caudill and wife Megan of Olympia WA, and Mark A. Caudill and wife Cindy of Lincoln NE. grandchildren, Benjamin Weiss, Addison Weiss, Lindsay Staub, and Danielle Stetson; her siblings, Joan Staub of Titusville, and Ed McGarvie and wife Maxine of Lincoln, NE.
In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Ernest, William, Robert, George and Francis McGarvie, and two sisters Wilma and Arlene McGarvie.
