Obituary published on Legacy.com by Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, Inc. - Morehead on Mar. 11, 2026.
Lawrence Thomas Caudill, 72, of Cranston Road,
Morehead, Kentucky, passed away at his home on Monday, March 9, 2026.
Born in Rowan County, Kentucky, on August 22, 1953, Lawrence was the beloved son of the late Greenberry and Carrie Plank Caudill.
Lawrence loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, watching sports, Westerns, and the stock market. He loved ginsenging and cutting tobacco, which he had won several trophies and money for being the fastest tobacco cutter.
Lawrence was a former employee of Morehead State University and a tobacco grower. He currently owned and operated Caudill Metal Buyers on Cranston Road.
In 1994, he started Caudill Metal Buyers out of a barn on his parent's farm and turned it into a successful business. Lawrence never forgot his humble beginnings. He still to this day operated his business out of the same barn and lived in the house that his grandfather Jack built in the 1940s. Lawrence had a big heart, and he was always helping people when they needed help.
Lawrence was always appreciative of his customers and buyers-he always said that he was nothing without them. He truly loved each and every one of his customers. To him, they were his second family. On behalf of Lawrence, his family would like to thank each customer and buyer for their support and friendship in the 32 years that he was in business.
Lawrence is survived by his children: Tina Renee McWain (Bennie Jackson) of Hillsboro, Kentucky; Timothy Lawrence Caudill (Jill) of
Morehead, Kentucky; Emily Marie Caudill and Lawrence Junior "L. J." Caudill, both at home; Joshua Peyton Back of Rowan County, Kentucky; his companion, Amanda Rooks of
