Katherine Elaine Dunford

Katherine Elaine Dunford, age 72, of the Reynolds Ridge section of Bandy, VA, passed away at her home on Friday, January 9, 2026.

Katherine was born on August 21, 1953, in Richlands, VA to the late Roy "Ebb" Meadows and Dorothy Kinder Meadows. She was a wonderful crafter who could crochet and embroider anything. She was a retired Walmart greeter and a lifelong resident of the area. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jonathan Brown; first husband, Elmer Brown; sister, Geraldine Sparks; and brother, Lonnie Meadows.

Roy Meadows, Jr. and wife, Shelia of Raven, VA

18 Grandchildren and 14 Great-Grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Katherine Elaine Dunford will be conducted on Wednesday, January 14, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Barry Absher officiating. Interment will follow at the Reynolds Ridge Community Cemetery on Jewell Ridge, VA. Pallbearers will be Nathan Brown, Cody Brown, Sam McCowan, Alex Mitchell, Chandler Brown, Shawn Cole, Donnie Meadows, and Smokey Christian. A visitation will be held from 6-9 PM on Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home.
