Traci Ana Dunford

Traci Ana Dunford, 81, South Jordan, Utah

Our Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother left her earthly home suddenly and unexpectedly on February 18, 2026. The world lost one of its kindest and most gentle Angels that day.

Traci was born in Salt Lake City to Douglas William and Iris Maxine (Barnes) Lindorff on October 30, 1944. She married Jeddy (Jed) Layne Dunford on March 17, 1966, in the Salt Lake City Temple forever cementing her favorite color as green. She lost her treasured companion of 54 years on March 18, 2020, and has missed him every day since. She is survived by five of her six children-Kimberly (Daniel) Troff, Bryce (Jennifer) Dunford, Melissa Dunford, David (Debbie) Dunford, and Amberlyn Dunford; 20 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, many "adoptees", and 3 siblings- Gloria, Linda, and Ruthanne. She lost her cherished son, Matthew, at age 12 in 1985, and we can only imagine the glorious reunion that was! Also preceded in death by both parents and a baby brother she never got to meet.

Traci's life was the very definition of love and service. She loved and served everyone she met, and all became family to her. Her greatest joy was being a wife, mother, and grandma. She loved and served her family until her dying day. She was the one that was there for all the sporting events, performances, awards or school events that her children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren were involved in even through a blizzard to see a basketball game her son was playing in with only one parent in the stand (yep, her!). But more than that, she was there when they were sick, when they were hurting, when they had last minute projects due, or when they just needed someone to be there. She loved unconditionally and she ALWAYS sacrificed her needs for theirs! She opened her home to many over the years and had many "adoptee" kids and grandkids who she remained close to and loved deeply her whole life.

Traci was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved the Temple and serving there! She served as a temple worker in the Oquirrh Mountain Temple for over 10 years. Even after her memory started to fail her, she served in the Laundry Room of the Temple and attended as much as she could as a Patron. She also served as a Church Service Events Missionary at Temple Square and the Conference Center for 5 years and loved her time there! She loved her Savior and was a great example of the believers.

Traci had many talents that blessed the lives of so many. She loved to crochet and do cross-stitch and always had a project she was working on though seldomly was it for herself. She made numerous blankets for her family over the years that are all treasured gifts. She loved to crochet things for her neighbors at Christmas time and would work all year long to get them done. She loved Christmas! Her house was always beautifully decorated for Christmas though everyone's favorite thing was her cross-stitch ornaments on her trees that she made to commemorate every birth, marriage, or major event in their lives from the time they were first married. When her eyes got too bad to cross-stitch anymore, her daughter, Amber, kept the tradition going. Our family history is on those trees! She also loved candles and her house always smelled so good when you walked in. She was a wonderful cook and always made amazing meals for her family and anyone that happened to be there that day. She was also a great singer and sang with a group called "Village Lace" even touring with them to California. She loved singing with that group and the people in it. In addition, she had lifelong friends that she loved dearly and did many things with them over the years.

Traci was an avid sports fan and loved watching all kinds of different sports, but her true loyalty was always with the BYU Cougars. She always said that she bled blue! She learned her love of sports from her dad and instilled in several of her children that same love. She also had a great love for animals, especially her dogs. After Jed died, her "puppy", Paris, was a much loved companion for her.

Traci's life was full of love, kindness, sacrifice, and service. To know her was to love her, but most especially to be loved by her. She was the most wonderful wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, and friend anyone could ask for, and we will miss her more than we could possibly say!

A viewing will be held at Larkin Sunset Gardens Mortuary located at 1950 E. 10600 S. on Friday, February 27, 2026, from 6:00-8:00 pm. There will also be a viewing at the Glenmoor Skye Drive Building located at 4200 S. Skye Drive at 11:00 am followed by her funeral at 12:00 in the same building.
