Edith LeDuc Obituary

Visit the Larkin Sunset Gardens - Sandy website to view the full obituary.
Edith Kaye LeDuc, age 85, returned home peacefully on February 20, 2026, in her residence in Sandy, Utah. She was born on March 28, 1940, in Provo, Utah, to Roger Louis LeDuc and Lucile Mower LeDuc.

Kaye spent her early childhood living at Hill Air Force Base in the years following World War II, where military barracks were converted into family housing. Later the family moved to Midvale, Utah. She, along with her brother Dale and sister Louise, enjoyed carefree days playing outside. From an early age, Kaye developed a deep love and curiosity for all living creatures-so much so that she was known for bringing snakes home in her pockets.

She married Arnold Terry, and together they welcomed five spirited children into their home-four daughters and one son. The family lived in several farming communities, giving Kaye a love for the outdoors and a strong work ethic that carried her throughout her life. After her divorce, she and the children moved to Salt Lake City, where she worked tirelessly at multiple jobs before building a successful career with Mountain Bell. She excelled there, creating lasting friendships and providing a stable, loving home for her children.

Kaye's life was defined by service. A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she found great joy in helping and uplifting others. She cherished the time she spent in the temple and lived her faith quietly but powerfully. She cared tenderly for her mother in her later years and opened her home to refugee single mothers, helping them establish new lives with safety and dignity.

Her hobbies reflected her adventurous and compassionate spirit. She loved hiking, camping, four-wheeling, skiing, gardening, and traveling to visit her children and grandchildren. Animals were constant companions throughout her life, including several beloved dogs, cats, a ball python and a big hairy tarantula. Above all, Kaye treasured the time she spent with her family. Kaye is survived by her children:

• Susan (David) Blackham

• Cindy (Phil) Ballif

• Frank (RaeLene) Terry

• Jeannette Ingersoll

She is also survived by her brother Dale (Elaine) LeDuc, brother in law Verdi Schill and son in law, Steven Seely, she has 15 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Louise Schill, her daughter Gayle Seely, her son in law Dee Rosenlof, and her grandsons Neil Seely, Jeffery Seely and Ryan Ballif.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy, Utah. A viewing will be held that morning from 9:30–10:30 a.m., followed by interment at the same location.

Kaye will be remembered for her kindness, her resilience, her devotion to family, her love for God and His creations, and the countless ways she blessed the lives of those around her. Her legacy of service, adventure, and unconditional love will continue forever through her family.
