Kenneth Eugene Mitchell

Kenneth Eugene Mitchell, age 87, of Bandy, VA, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

He was the son of the late Floyd Mitchell, Sr., and Nancy Caroline Baldwin Mitchell. He was a lifelong resident of the Bandy area. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Ken worked for Virginia Dump Bodies in Richlands, Virginia. He loved gardening, mowing, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He attended Freewill Baptist Church in Bandy, VA.

In addition to his parents and siblings, Ken was preceded in death by his first wife, Genetta White Mitchell; his second wife, LouElla Grace Lockhart Mitchell; one son, Anthony DuWane Clifton; two granddaughters, Christna Clifton and Dorothy Boone; and one son-in-law, Tommy Noel.

14 Grandchildren, 16 Great-Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services for Kenneth Eugene Mitchell will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home in Richlands, VA with the Rev. Lawrence Hayes and Rev. Ronnie Sparks officiating. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Matthew Noel, Cameron Barbetto, Zachary Barbetto, Cody Lester, Brandon Estep, and Johnny Sparks. A visitation will be held from 12:00 PM until the time of service.
