Katherine L. Edsell was born on March 1, 1937, in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, the only daughter of Robert E. and Katherine (Lukemeier) Anderson. She entered into rest on September 21, 2023, in Neosho, Missouri at the age of 86. Katherine was a lifelong Neosho area resident and graduated from Neosho High School, class of 1955. She worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Evans for fifteen years and was a homemaker. She baked pecan pies for the Neosho Fire and Police Departments and never missed her children's events. She was a member of the Neosho First Presbyterian Church. On September 13, 1958, in Neosho, Katherine and John M. "Jigger" Edsell were united in marriage and he preceded her in death on March 2, 1993.
Katherine is survived by two sons, John Edsell and wife, Nancy of Neosho, Thomas Edsell of Neosho and Katherine 'Katy' Wiest and husband, Tim of Ankeny, Iowa; five grandchildren, John Wiest and wife, Sara of Sanford, Carolina, Steffen Wiest and wife, Jessica, all of Neosho; Jeremy Edsell of Carl Junction, Kristen Lentz and husband, Will of Springfield, Missouri, and Melissa Ford and husband, Hayden of Webb City; eight great-grandchildren, with one due to arrive in November. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Kenny, Larry, and Gerald Anderson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Clark Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, Pastor Barry Reel will officiate. Interment will follow in the Neosho I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Neosho, MO. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 P.M. until service time.
