It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Katherine Frances Messer, who left this world on Sunday, December 7, 2025, surrounded by loved ones

Kathy was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a proud grandmother whose greatest joy was seeing her family grow. Born with a heart made for caring, she dedicated her life to helping others through her work as a nurse. Her compassion, steady hands, and gentle spirit touched countless lives. Nursing was not just her profession-it was truly her calling.

She adored traveling, especially to her favorite place, Walt Disney World, with her children and grandchildren. Whether she was strolling down Main Street or watching fireworks light up the sky, she found magic in every moment. At home, she delighted in cozy evenings watching Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel, no matter the season, and could often be found enjoying the creativity and comfort of the Food Network.

Her kindness, her humor, and her ability to make every person feel valued will be forever missed. Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in the memories she leaves behind and in the knowledge that her love will continue to guide us.

Kathy is survived by her loving husband, Freddie; her children, Kevin (Joy), Kassandra (Saurabh), and Bradley (Sarah); her grandchildren, Cameron (Sydney), Andrew, Jackson, Mallory, Colin, Addilyn, and Arhaan; and many extended family members and friends who will carry her spirit forward.

The family will receive visitors at A.J. Desmond & Sons Funeral Home, 2600 Crooks Rd. (between Maple & Big Beaver) on Tuesday from 3-7 PM. A service to honor her beautiful life will be held at the same location on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at 11 AM.

Her legacy will remain with us always.
