It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Katherine Baca, on August 28, 2024. She was 94 years old. Born on March 22, 1930, in Big Lake Texas, Katherine lived a full and vibrant life. She was the loving wife of Manuel Baca Sr., who predeceased her by 42 years. Together, they raised a family of 7 children who will forever cherish her memory..
Katherine was a devoted homemaker, who took great pride in caring for her family. She was an exceptional cook and loving mother, known for her delicious meals. She enjoyed her dogs and loved taking care of them.
In her free time, Katherine enjoyed reading the newspaper, watching novelas, and eating sweets. She was an avid fan of The Young and Restless and The Price is Right. She was also a talented baker and loved baking cakes for birthdays.
Katherine was a woman of great faith, who attended The Apostolic Church in Odessa for many years. She was a kind and generous soul who always put others before herself. Her family and friends will remember her for her warm smile, her gentle nature, and her unwavering love.
Katherine is survived by her 7 children: Ida Baca, Rebecca Baca, Hector Baca, Daniel Baca, Emanuel Baca, (Omar Baca), Veronica Baca. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Manuel Baca, Eric Baca, Hector Jr Baca, Daniel Baca, Mathew Baca, Beatrice Baca, (Joey Baca), Skyler Baca.
A visitation has been set for Katherine, Wednesday September 4, 2024, from 1pm-9pm with a prayer service at 7pm at Martinez Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Abel V. Torres officiating.
Funeral services are set for 10am. Thursday September 5, 2024, at Martinez Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Luis Rodriguez officiating.
The burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery Rosehill section.
Pallbearers are Manuel, Hector, Emanuel, Eric, and Daniel Baca Jr.
Rest in peace, dear Katherine. You will be forever missed and always remembered.
