Katheryn Clymore-Aral (Kathi) died on August 5, 2025, 81 days after the tragic confluence of an accidental dog bite and Kathi's already-compromised immune system. For every day of those days one or more of her immediate family were with her; husband Tim Aral, daughter Sierra Cummings, son-in-law Zach Cummings, and sister Jacquelyn coming up from North Carolina. Too weak to move, to breathe on her own, to speak, Kathi struggled, at first against the relatively common and usually harmless bacteria capnocytophaga, and then against additional complications. She seemed to be improving, but then suddenly weakened again, and passed quietly with everyone at her side.
Born in New Castle, Indiana, to Joyce and Dan Clymore, she grew up there and in Alliance Ohio, attended Ohio University, married Tim and living in Germany and in Colorado while Tim served in the Army, before returning first to North Carolina and then to Louisville Ohio.
Kathi was warm, engaging, deeply caring, and passionate about her family and her beloved dogs. She was a welcome sight on her daily dog walks and well known in the neighborhood for her yellow A-Linker, kicking up her heels and keeping those dogs tired. Kathi was, above all else, a committed and adoring mother to Sierra, and she also loved every child that came into her life as if they were her own. She was delighted to welcome Zach into their family last October. Kathi and Tim made a full and meaningful life together.
Kathi also had a loving extended family: her sister Jacquelyn Clymore (Vaughn Greene) in North Carolina, her much-loved nephews Dan, Griffin and Carson, her stepmother Pam Clymore, Lance and Lisa Galentine and their children Garrett and Maggie, and many cousins, aunts and uncles across the country. Her unexpected loss leaves a hole in the lives of many people.
The family is deeply grateful for, and respectful of, all the people and facilities of Aultman Hospital and related organizations. To all the friends and neighbors, thank you for your support in this difficult time.
Kathi not being much of a public person, there will be no memorial service. If you are moved to remember her, she would have appreciated donations or volunteer work for local animal shelters.
