Obituary
Kathleen Ann Brandon
May 5, 1959 – September 30, 2025
Kathleen Ann Brandon, 66, of Greybull, Wyoming, passed peacefully into eternity on September 30, 2025, at Three Rivers Hospital in Basin, Wyoming.
Born May 5,1959 in Tacoma, Washington to her loving parents Raymond Smith and Vivian Smith Greene, Kathleen was a woman defined by unwavering love and dedication to her family. Her life's work was raising her children and creating a warm, loving place that always welcomed children, grandchildren, and many others. Her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
In her youth, Kathleen's family traveled extensively due to her father being in the military. She mainly grew up in Elwood, Illinois. Shortly after graduating in Coal City, Illinois, she was married and became the mother of three beloved children: Mike, Brandy, and Charles. This marriage later ended in divorce. In December of 1988 a chance meeting in a beauty shop introduced her to Greg Brandon who quickly swept her off her feet. The happy couple was married on March 24, 1990. To this union were born Mary, Tammie, Nicole, and a bonus child, Jayson. As a blended family, Kathleen and Greg went on to create many precious, lasting memories which gave Kathleen much comfort in her last days.
Kathleen was a devoted mother and proud housewife, but she also served others with a kind spirit and ready smile as a favorite waitress, and she enjoyed working in retail as an assistant manager at Target. She always loved socializing and helping others. Kathleen and Greg retired and moved to Greybull, Wyoming in 2016. Although she struggled with her own health problems and side effects of cancer treatment, she remained outgoing, social, and always made sure people were taken care of. Her strength, grace, and positive attitude throughout her illness define who Kathleen was.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; Raymond Smith and Vivian Smith Greene, stepfather; Emmanuelson "Fred", son; Jayson Brandon; granddaughter; Olivia Vlahos, sister; Karen Hagerman, and brother; Ronald Smith;, several nephews and one niece.
Kathleen is survived by her husband; Greg Brandon, sons; Michael (Candi) Geisen of Ottawa, Illinois, and Charles (Nikki) Geisen of Bradley, Illinois, daughters; Brandy (Christopher) Hoxie of Ottawa, Illinois, Mary (Bill) Vlahos, of Jolliet, Illinois, Tammie Brandon (Greg Bailey) of Wilmington, Illinois, and Nicole Zapata of Greybull, Wyoming, brothers; Gary (Susan) Smith of Coal City, Illinois, and Kendall (Suncha) Smith of Normal, Illinois, sister; Marsha (Gerald) Vaughn of Morris, Illinois, and fourteen grandchildren with one on the way.
As Kathleen wished, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Online condolences can be made at bryantfuneralhomeonline.com
