Kathleen Cashman, 78, passed away peacefully February 19, 2023.
Kathleen was born September 14, 1944, to Bertha Mae and Thomas H. Boppart. During her younger days, she enjoyed attending many years at Camp Wabigonnis, especially swimming, and eventually becoming a Senior Camp Counselor. She graduated from Notre Dame de Sion High School where she lettered in swimming, and stayed connected with her Sion sisters through the years attending many reunions.
Kathleen married Charles R. "Dick" Cashman Jr. on May 10th, 1966, and enjoyed bringing up two sons Ted and Kenneth. Kathleen and Dick were married for nearly 50 loving years until his passing in 2016. Kathleen also worked many years at Macy's and then Dillard's in Mission until retiring, and she was always happy to share scarf tying tips.
Kathleen enjoyed many summer trips with her family, taking long walks to The Plaza to enjoy the art fairs, excursions to parks, visiting museums, going out for ice cream, and taking countless walks around the neighborhood with her family and many dogs over the years always named Sergeant and Pepper. She very much loved attending events and special occasions involving her grandchildren. Kathleen also enjoyed lunch outings together with friends and family, and never turned down dinner at Godfather's Pizza, or one of her other favorite places.
One of Kathleen's greatest joys was playing Canasta with her best friends from St. Pius X Parish. She was a fierce Canasta competitor! Even after moving from the house she loved, she taught and played cards with her new apartment community friends at Greenwood Terrace. Visitors to her house were usually greeted with a homemade batch of her "Chip Chocolate Cookies", Rice Krispies Treats, Knox Blox, or Twizzlers. Kathleen's wonderful caregivers from Interim HealthCare and Crossroads Hospice also couldn't leave her apartment without receiving some Twizzlers or Hershey's Kisses "for the road".
Kathleen was always caring, and giving, and will be forever in our hearts.
Kathleen is survived by her son Ken and his wife Kim and their children Allison and Patrick; son Ted and his wife Julie and their children Ashley and Bella; former daughter-in-law Mariya (Ted) and their children Natalie, Alex, Hailey, Jackson, and Sophia; sister Jane Schleicher and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Dick, her parents Bertha Mae and Thomas, her brother Henry Boppart, and sisters Mary Ellen Crowe and Anne Mueller.
