Kathryn Lanice Jackson Threatt, a cherished wife, mother, daughter, and friend left us on April 1, 2025, to join her heavenly home. Kathryn's life would seem too short to many, but those of us who were blessed to be touched by her understand that her existence and the imprint she left on our hearts exceed the quantity of time that she stayed here. She confessed her belief in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and knew her destiny did not end here on earth.
On March 26, 1963, she came into this world the daughter of Lucy Kathryn Mock Walker and Earl (Buster) Jackson. Kathryn's academic journey began at Notre Dame de Sion High School, where her intellectual curiosity and drive set her apart. She went on to attend The University of Kansas, graduating with a Bachelor of General Studies.
On October 10, 1991, Kathryn married the love of her life, Elliott Robert Threatt. Kathryn and Elliott welcomed their beloved children, Robert Elliott, Charles Cooper, and Chloe Doris Madison Threatt into their home.
Kathryn and Elliott started their entrepreneurial venture by opening their first GNC store in Salina, Kansas, in 1992. From 1992 to 2001, they expanded to operate six GNC stores in Missouri and Kansas. In 2001, Elliott & Kathryn entered the airport concessions market by partnering with Paradies Lagardere at the Kansas City airport through 2023. In 2016 they expanded into new airport ventures with SSP America, Elevate Gourmet Foods with locations in Minneapolis, MN; Madison, WI; Cedar Rapids, IA; and Dallas, TX airports. In 2023 they further expanded with Paradies Lagardere in Salt Lake City, UT, and St. Louis, MO. Kathryn and Elliott always believed in giving back to the community. Their humanitarian service includes Thelma's Kitchen, USO-San Diego & DFW, Circles-Salt Lake, Veterans Community Project Kansas City and St. Louis, New House Women's Shelter, C&H, Leavenworth Interfaith Community of Hope, Synergy Services, and St. James C.M.E. Church, Leavenworth, KS.
Kathryn loved her family and friends more than anything. She never met a stranger and was sincerely kind to everyone. She is survived by her husband, Elliott; sons, Robert Elliott; Charles Cooper; Daughter, Chloe Doris Madison Threatt; mother, Lucy (Sally) Walker, Aunts; Lillie Mock; Chara (Steve) Lorrance; uncle, John Walker (Mildred); sisters-in-law, Lynne Threatt; and Connie Krupp; brothers-in-law, Wayne Threatt; and James Threatt (Laura); nephews, Kohl Hollinquest; and Tristan Threatt; nieces, Addison Peeler; and Blair Threatt; sister/cousins, Gaye Walker; Paula Cathey; and Renita Tolbert; loving friends, Alicia Renee Reeves; Ruffina Rector; Stephanie Park; Tracey Mazuer; Donna Manuel; a host of close-knit family of cousins; and friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church. Private Disposition. Visitation: 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at the Church.
