Dear Great Aunt Kathleen,
Though you're no longer with us, your warmth still fills my thoughts every Christmas. My happiest childhood memories are of holidays at your house, the delicious food you cooked with love, the excitement of Pokeno as you called the cards (and sometimes got them wrong, making us all laugh), and how you'd lean in to help me with my board.
I smile thinking of how you helped my twin sister and me decorate Great Uncle Reed with Christmas bows, you sneaking me sweet treats when my parents weren't looking, and offering me sips of your coffee after dessert. I didn't like it then, but now as an adult, every cup reminds me of sitting with you at your kitchen table.
Your traditions live on. I´ve taught my husband and children Pokeno, and we play it every Christmas, laughing and remembering you.
You were such a nice lady, Great Aunt Kathleen, full of kindness and love. You will be deeply missed by all of us. Rest in peace.
With all my love,
Jennifer Adams
